“Scorched Earth”

Scorched earth was painted after the Thomas fire and is an experiment in fluid acrylics mixed with ash from my former home. What emerged was an image of the spirit of the land, and all the creatures burned in the fire. It is in honor, reverence, and solidarity with all those who lost their lives in the California wildfire, be they human, animal, or plant.
